TECHNICAL TOUR OVERVIEW
PORT LANDS BRIDGE
3:00pm – 5:30pm, July 19th – Buses will be at the main entrance of the conference hotel at 3:00 pm.
In 2001, the City of Toronto and the Governments of Ontario and Canada gave Waterfront Toronto a mandate to revitalize 2,000 acres of Toronto’s waterfront. This monumental project includes a group of three (3) bridges that can be easily conceived as art pieces. The three structures, Cherry Street Bridge South, Cherry Street Bridge North, and Commissioners Street Bridge South, are part of the Port Lands naturalization project. The structures are composed of bent steel plates that helped to form their distinctive futuristic arches. Join us for a unique “inside” look at those structures during construction is still in progress.
PPE equipment: A protection-free zone on-site will be arranged so that delegates do not have to bring any personal protection with them on the tour.
